Dear friend George,

I received a copy of your speech and I was truly impressed. I congratulate you warmly, you personally, but I ask you to also communicate my congratulations to the other members of your Club for your vast humanistic deeds. I am sure that you consistute a unique case of a Rotary Club with such methodic and organized activities in all fields. You are an example worthy of mimicking and great praise. Presidents like you and Clubs like yours honour truly the Rotary.

As an elected President of a young Club (we just celebrated two years since its foundation), along with the members of our Club, we have all the good will to make every possible effort to reciprocate to the obligations of a Rotary Club, but we do not have the experience nor the organization of your Club and your successes look to us, for the time being, as an elusive dream. It is alright, though. Dreaming is not bad. Maybe some day this dream will come true. This is the main reason why I thank you for the speech you sent to me. I will read it to our Club, because I believe it can become a source of inspiration for each and everyone of us and a motivation to our high aims.

It is truly a great pleasure meeting you and I am sure we will meet again sometime in the future to know each other better. Taking advantage of this chance, I would like to suggest something to you. Because we are a young Club and we do not yet have rotarian education, which I think is a necessary condition for the success of a Club's aims, I intent to invite old rotarians for a series of lectures of relevant content in the following rotarian period. It would be a great pleasure for me and an honour for our Club if you could come some Tuesday in the next session of my presidency as an invited guest to our Club, in the boundaries of this "Rotarian Briefing" of our members. Our meetings take place at hotel "Mati", in the homonymous suburb of Nea Makri, above the sea, in which you will sojourn. I would ask from you, provided that you accept my proposition, to suggest to me a date that would be convenient for you, so as to put it in the year schedule, which I intend to organize at this moment.

Again, I thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.

Wirh rotarian friendship,

Dimitris Kantzavelos
Elected President of the Rotary Club of Nea Makri
